This is the poem that is currently inspiring A Blade Made For Killing. I wrote this during a class one day, and all of my thoughts about this story are coming from this poem, I hope it helps your insite into this story, and as always, please comment!
I Do Not Listen--A Blade Made For Killing
This place is too quiet.
Last night I controlled my emotion.
I ceased crying for him.
My name is Asure, and my gift…
My gift is empathy.
Empathy for humans,
Empathy for animals,
Empathy for plants, even.
Quiet is the only thing I really know…
People's emotions change.
People Change.
But the quiet in this place?
It's never-ending, never-changing.
My empathy makes me a prisoner of my own heart,
My heart can't make me feel the quiet thought.
It can't make me feel.
Empathy can make me hear.
I don't have to listen though.
I don't have to feel their pain.
This place I am in…it's peaceful.
I've never felt peace before,
I'm a child of the war.
Everyday I am shot, I am hit.
I am even killed.
But I never die.
I never feel the peace of death, only the pain.
A never ending night, of screams, of hate…
And now? Nothing.

Hello everyone. Finally, an update!
The other day in one of my classes I wrote a poem (one I will post on this page later since it pertains to the subject at hand) that got me to thinking about another book idea. I'll just throw up the little random tidbits I have so far. Look for the poem soon!
"Who are you?" She was shielded.* No one had ever been able to hide their emotions from her before. Who was this woman, to think that she could hide behind barriers no one else had. There was no such thing as a dormant gift. No such thing as a defensive gift. There was only active and "attacking" if that is what you would call it. No one felt pain when she entered their feelings and took them as her own, but it was still considered an attacking gift. One that you projected onto another person.
This woman that stood before her looked almost as unnerved as Asure felt. She was the exact opposite with sparkling leaf-green eyes and blonde hair that fell in waves to her waist. She was fair of complexion and had a slightness to her form that made her seem frail, though Asure could see the strength this woman had in how she held her dagger and form. She was tall and willowy and had a grace that made her look as if she would start dancing at any moment.
"Asure? That name sounds familiar. Are you not the assassin of the Night Wing?" Krimdor was the heir to the Aleron throne. The older brother of Brida. He was tall and fair complexioned with the same slight build. But with much darker eyes. A flint steel with blue tones. The same color as a bright sword blade.*
*Asure has steel grey eyes with a bluish tint and a dark complexion with raven black hair. She is short and compact and obviously muscular from her years of training. Her hair is in a boyish pixie cut.
*The girl before her is (Doubt, Brida) They are twins of the soul and can unconciously block one another's gifts because of the thousands of years that they have been together.
*Both are born of the Aleron royal line, but Asure was a bastard child of the second king and was adopted while only days old. Asure does not know of her lineage, (Doubt, Brida) does not know either, though she knows she has a sibling out there somewhere.
*Krimdor remembers the "incident" with the dark child, though he was young at the time. Their crown passes through the queen. He is the queen's first husband's child. (Doubt, Brida) is the second husband's.
*Asure
*(Doubt, Brida)
*Krimdor
